Is this real life?
Can we just take a second to talk about how in a few hours, I will officially be done with my junior year of college and be a senior. The time moves way to fast. Just this time last year, I had just gotten back from the most amazing adventure of my life. I know this year has been busier and full of struggles and surprises, but this summer will be something else. With mom and dad and Kristina leaving in less that two months and my birthday in less than a month it is going to be…well interesting to say the least. I think I am going to work on doing a “day in the life of” kinda daily update. Hope you all are ready! Good bad, whatever, it will be coming your way and I hope you are up to it! Lets all go on an adventure!

There are just some times when I am over the way things are. I am tired of feeling like shit, then feeling great then being made to feel like an asshole all over again.
I think my anxiety is just taking over every bit of emotion I feel on a daily basis. That and annoyance because I am tired of putting up with crap from people just because I am too nice to show them that they actually pissed me off or upset me…fuck that, i am going to be myself now which is a whole different headstrong person than when I was at school last fall. If it makes people mad, then good..if it makes people proud then even better.

Sometimes I feel like the days just go by without any change in any aspect, just go to work go home do nothing, repeat. Is that what 20 years old is supposed to feel like?

Hip Howdy Hello
Life is getting tedious..not in the suicidal tendencies way, but man am I tired ALL THE TIME. It is a curious thing really…I sleep a solid amount of time on average seeing as how i only work nights and can sleep in..
So I just need to talk about yesterday, because it annoyed the daylights out of me. I got off work at 9pm, and then I went to go visit my best friend, and when I returned to the apartment it was well after 12am. So I go around the apartment complex for a parking spot. no spots. I literally drove around the whole web of parking lots in the whole complex for 20 minutes with no luck for a spot. Eventually I was so exhausted I just parked in a numbered space that I am sure belonged to someone else…but here is the catch that annoys me even more than not having a place to park. People WITH handy numbered spots that are always open, STILL PARK IN UNNUMBERED SPACES. WTF? If I had a numbered space I would park there like it was my job, and then laugh when others without numbers must park in spots across the lot. Yup. That is fact.
Okay, I apologize for the rant of today, but I really just needed to get that one out. And in reality, this is my blog so I can talk about whatever I wish to. :)
Also, self high five to me because I am a surprisingly decent cook, years of watching mom and oma have paid off. woot woot.
Love it. Live it. Stay Classy.

Alrighty then..
Sooooooo I know I had originally started this blog when I was abroad to tell everyone about how fantastically awesome it was, but now that I am back, I decided I will try and keep blogging..but now it will be about whatever is on my mind. So there. Take it or leave it. :)
I have been home for almost 20 days now..weird, I think the craziest thing was the fact that NOTHING FEELS DIFFERENT. It all feels exactly as I left it almost 5 months ago now..eerie? I think yes. I am finally getting into a routine now. Thank goodness. Life sucks when every second is spent on edge. Really Though.
Back to working at the gym…man I love my job, except that this summer I work almost all closing shifts..so much for always cooking dinner and having good nights out with my friends. Oh well, making money is the goal. I have been consistently been applying for jobs, but it always takes ages before anyone gets back to you…I did have a babysitting interview this morning that went really well, but unfortunately my fall class schedule prevented me from snagging that one although she said she really liked me..bbbuuutttt school comes first…no matter how cute the kids were..lol
So I guess for now I am done rambling…aka wasting time at work. We will see what topic fuels my next update..KEEP IT CLASSY EVERYONE;)

Adventures…Oh man Oh man
So some people would think spending a weekend at home is boring…not for Courtney and I . We went and spent 3 hours at Wal Mart on a Friday, She loved the fact that they gave samples of mixed drinks in the alcohol aisle..So funny to watch! haha It was also a relaxing weekend because I got a few administrative things sorted out, and spent the day hanging out in my room on Saturday. I say it was a successful weekend.
We went paintballing once too. I had never before done that..but I can most definitely say that now I have! IT was so fun, and I was surprisingly better than I expected. It was super hot dressed in all of the gear they gave us. But it was quite a rush to experience. I was actually sore the next days cause of the croutching and running around the field! Im good at hiding though because I am so tiny..good or bad idk but I will go with good:)
Aside from those activities, it has been fairly quiet lately. Just finsihed up my elective courses, which is a relief!
Semana Santa was a great way to take some brain time off before starting spanish today. Luke, madeline and I went to Playa Santa Teresa for 3ish days at the beginning of spring break. It was quite an interesting ride there. We didnt have seats on the bus, so we had to sit on the floor..for hours. Once there we had to walk a mile or more to our hostel..all before finally eating dinner. And it was so so hot there. BUt I spent two amazing days at the beach soaking up the summer sun:) I must say my tan is coming along nicely! :) After that and eating amazingly delicious food we came home and i spent the next couple days relaxing at home watching movies and tv shows. I did take a walk or two, but being lazy is sometimes acceptable!;) Today was my first day of my last class/month in Costa Rica..bittersweet. I love my Spanish Intermedio 1 teacher and the class has already shown me that I have come quite a ways with my Spanish speaking skills:)
Now we will see how this last month unfolds..I promise to keep up more with my blog from here til the end..maybe even after I’m home, cause no one said adventures mean you are away from home:)

Nicaragua..what??
Hello, SOOOO I know I have been so so so bad about keeping up with my blog. *slaps back of hand* I know everyone is always interested in hearing the what happened of my life here. I have severely slacked. no more!
So I got the amazing chance to go to NIcaragua for a weekend. And it was a fantastic trip. The bus ride was nice and long, and we left at like 3 am. :/ but once we got to the border, we picked up our tour guide for the weekend, and all along the drive to Pavas, we heard about the history and legends of Nicaragua and how it got its name, as well as the story behind the placements and names of the oldest cities there. Quite interesting stuff!
Once we got to Pavas, we got to see this old cathedral, and the inside was beautifully painted and then we got to take tricycle cart tour rides around the town before getting on the bus and heading to Grenada. Grenada was so beautiful, and once we arrived there we all settled into our hotel, got lunch and took a horse carriage tour around the city. We got to learn about and see: the old train station, the old cathedrals, and we even got to pay a dollar and climb up to the bell tower and see the whole city from high up above, even seeing the lake in the distance. It was such a fantastic day! We all spent that night chatting out by the pool, just enjoying the nice evening:)
Day 2: we woke up, and had a tasty breakfast at the hotel, then loaded up in the bus to head out to our day activities. We got to take this speed boat tour around the various islands that are on the lake. We learned about how the richest families live there because of how expensive even a tiny island land piece is! After that we took to bus to the capitol city, stopping first to zip line across a dormant volcano’s lagoon. What a rush! I ate some subway after that at this greatly americanized looking mall, I also had a delicious ice cream cone to top off the afternoon! Next we got to check out a greatly active volcano. It was so active that the air was so full of smoke and sulfur smell(?) that you couldnt stay outside too long without feeling like you took a great blow to the lungs. It was cool to walk up to this cross that was on top, allowing us to look down into the crater that is the top of the volcano. It was constantly smoking and looked awesome! After all of that we returned to Grenada, had some time to relax, and ate a delicious dinner consisting of gallo pinto, carne asada, and salad. Yum Yum Yum! After another night of hanging out by the pool, looking at the stars, and enjoying the cool evening air, I went to bed, and the next day we made our way back across to the Costa Rica side. Great weekend. :)

Montezuma for the weekend? I think yes:)
What an amazing weekend I have had:) I was highly debating not going which I now am glad that I did go to Montezuma for the weekend. So we headed out at 5 am to meet up and head to the bus station to catch our 6am bus on friday morning. I hate mornings..regardless of the reason behind the early getting up haha. After 2 hours on a bus, an hour on a ferry, and an hour and a half on a bus again, we finally got to Montezuma and it was hot hot hot. So we got to the hostel, changed into cooler clothes and then went to the store to buy our little lunch:) mine was delicious onion bread and apples:) Then we went to the beach..which wasn’t as gloriously beautiful as it could have been seeing as how it was Red Tide and there were dead fishies galore. Oh well, we still went for a swim! haha after wasting away the lovely afternoon at the beach and walking around town, we showered up and headed to the store to buy the ingredients for our delicious dinner which consisted of avocados, tomatos, beans, fired onion, and quesadillas. Oh man it was glorious. We had a blast cooking together too. Then Caroline and Luke joined us and we just enjoyed each other’s company and walked around downtown for a bit then called it a night. What a way to spend a Friday..I’d say my life is good:)
Saturday morning was lovely because I got up at 5:30 to see the sunrise, then went back and slept until 9:) We went for a walk along the beach after eating a bit of breakfast (I had some break and apple again..soooooo yummy) and it was so hot that when we got back to the hostel, i took a cold shower (there was no option other than ice cold..for which i was surprisingly thankful) and that made my body temperature comfortable. After my shower (which I took in my bathing suit) I layed out in a hammock to dry. I was in that hammock for 2 amazing hours, listening to music, doing sudoku and looking at the ocean front view that our hostel had. At around 3 we headed off to go on a hike to the waterfall…hahaha “hike” being the key incorrect word..
Our little “40 minute hike” turned out to translate to “lets scale the side of a mountain” I literally thought I was going to die as I slowly but surely clung to the side of this mountain and pulled myself up by roots and rocks. I was scared for my life the whole time. I just looked around and tried not to cry out in agonizing fear. really though. At one point I turned to Madeline and said “I’m just sitting..sitting right here” cause there was nothing to hold on to up ahead and i was frozen in fear. I also slipped and caught myself on a hanging root above my head…I almost fell off a mountain, and i managed a terrified laugh cause my senses were so numbed by fear haha BUt I dont want to make you all think that i am doing anything too too crazy..I made it to the top where there was a pool of water from the waterfalls and it was like making it up to heaven. haha the swim in there was so amazing and well earned..come to find out there was an easier path to get there…oh man i was not happy about that. but at least i can say that i scaled a mountain in Costa Rica to get to a waterfall. and swim in the cool mountain water. haha life is glorious.
After our crazy “hike” (haha) we showered up and went to dinner and Caroline gave me a piece of her delicious pizza, with tomatos and eggplant and basil on it. nom nom nom nom haha We then all got ice cream and hung out back at our hostel, where we met a bunch of cool people who were from all over the globe. :) I don’t at all take for granted the amazing experience i am getting here..its unreal and I know I am overwhelmingly lucky to be able to do what I am doing:) Sunday morning I slept until 9 and took a walk along the beach collecting shells, then we checked out of the hostel, had lunch, and played soccer in a soccer field until our bus came. I loved everyone who went with us this weekend and it was so so fun and I am so glad I went. What a fantastic weekend filled with neverending memories! haha Next weekend: Nicaragua!
Goodnight people I love, I wish all of you could be living it up with me here in Costa Rica! :)

Long week..
Hello Hello. This is a bit late and I have not been keeping up as well as before, but I did try and write out this update a few days ago..but technology was against me and so it was all lost with a simple closing of Google Chrome..haha oh well. I do apologize for being on strike for 2 days! My weekend was good and I got to go to Cahuita with my biology class. We were supposed to go snorkeling..but the water was too murky:( bummer…but we did go to Manzilla and look at sea urchins and snails in the tide pools and put our feet in the water:) I just love the beach! That night we had free time, and finally not being on a research reserve, a couple of my friends and I went off to find dessert:) Then it started POURING rain! So great to run back down the street in the rain to our hotel and show up soaking wet and get ready for bed:) It was a good sun filled day. Sunday I went to Cahuita National Park and we saw snakes and sloths and monkeys and spiders..im not one for snakes and spiders..(but these were pretty cool) and sloths are so cute:) I found out that one of the girls from my program and I are very very similar..almost freakishly so..haha but we love it! Plenty in common with someone similar to you:) All in all it was a laid back good weekend…until the migraine that hit when I got home..Idk what keeps giving me these headaches but I wish they would stop:(
So in case you didnt already read in facebook, this week was my sick week. :/ Monday I woke up (after sleeping off a migraine from the night before) and felt kinda off but thought nothing of it and went downtown on a mission to retrieve my package..(success!) I got back just in time for class..but I was gradually feeling sicker and sicker. Like the body pains that come with the onset of the flu. I made it through literally 20 minutes of my class before having to go home sick. I went right to bed for 2 hours only to wake up feeling 100x worse and having a massive fever but feeling like someone threw me in the freezer! un real. My mama tica was amazingly sweet though and gave me get better hugs and tea and medicine. I am finally better now..not 100% but well enough to enjoy a weekend away this weekend. I was in bed for 2 days though. Ugh I hate the flu..where ever I am..especially when it is away from home.. Oh well. whats done is done!
This weekend we head off to the lovely town of Montezuma! not my whole program but like 8 of us from my group. Should be fun! Nicaragua next weekend..then March is halfway over already and April is my last month before I hit the real world of working life in the good old USA. haha bitter sweet are the things in life…
Goodnight all :) <3
